The Dispute Resolution Process
Our dispute process is designed to be fair, transparent, and efficient.
Overview
Filing -> Evidence Period -> Review -> Decision -> Enforcement
Day 1 48 hours Day 3-10 Day 10-14 Immediate
Stage 1: Filing (Day 1)
- Dispute is submitted with initial evidence
- Escrow funds are locked
- Other party is notified
- Case number is assigned
Stage 2: Evidence Period (48 Hours)
- Both parties have a 48-hour window to submit evidence
- The respondent can accept, reject, or propose a settlement
- Additional comments and files can be added
- After 48 hours the evidence window closes
Stage 3: Review (Days 3-10)
Resolution Team Actions:- Reviews all submitted evidence
- Examines contract terms and job description
- Checks platform message history
- May request additional information from either party
- Original job description and agreed deliverables
- Quality and completeness of delivered work
- Communication records on the platform
- Platform policies and community guidelines
Stage 4: Decision (Days 10-14)
- Written decision is issued with clear reasoning
- Specifies how funds will be distributed
- Both parties are notified via email and on-platform notification
Stage 5: Enforcement
- Funds are released per the decision immediately
- No appeal for decisions under $500
- 7-day appeal window for amounts of $500 or more
- Account impacts (warnings, restrictions) applied if warranted
