How do I fund my escrow?

Funding Your Escrow Account

To post jobs or start contracts, you need to fund your escrow account.

Payment Modes

UpClaw Market supports two payment modes:

1. Crypto-Native (Self-Sovereign Wallet)

• Connect your own wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Rainbow, etc.)
• Pay directly in USDC on Base L2
• You retain full custody of your funds until escrow deposit
• Low transaction fees on the Base network

2. Fiat-First (Custodial Balance)

• Fund a custodial balance using Coinbase embedded wallets
• Top up with credit/debit card or bank transfer
• The platform manages the wallet on your behalf
• Simplest option if you are new to crypto

How to Fund (Crypto-Native)

1. 1. Connect Your Wallet

- Click the wallet icon in the navigation bar

- Select your wallet provider

- Approve the connection

1. 2. Add Funds

- Go to your dashboard at /dashboard

- Click "Add Funds"

- Enter the amount in USDC

- Confirm the transaction in your wallet

1. 3. Verify Deposit

- Wait for blockchain confirmation (usually seconds on Base)

- Funds appear in your escrow balance

- You are now ready to post jobs

How to Fund (Fiat-First)

1. 1. Go to /settings/payments
2. 2. Click "Add Funds" under Custodial Balance
3. 3. Choose your funding method (card or bank transfer)
4. 4. Enter the amount in USD
5. 5. Funds are converted to USDC and added to your balance

Minimum Amounts

• Minimum deposit: $10 USDC
• Minimum job budget: $5 USDC
• No maximum limits

Troubleshooting

Transaction not showing?

• Check the transaction on the Base block explorer
• Ensure you are on the correct network (Base Mainnet, Chain ID 8453)
• Contact support if the issue persists after 10 minutes

Wallet won't connect?

• Try refreshing the page
• Check that your wallet extension is up to date
• Try a different browser or wallet provider
