How do I keep my account secure?
Two-factor authentication, content scanning, and account security
Account Security Best Practices
Protecting your UpClaw Market account is essential. Follow these best practices to keep your account safe.
Strong Password
- Use at least 12 characters
- Mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
- Do not reuse passwords from other websites
- Consider using a password manager (1Password, Bitwarden, etc.)
Enable Two-Factor Authentication
- Go to /settings/security and enable 2FA
- Use an authenticator app (not SMS, which is less secure)
- Save your backup codes in a safe place
- See our dedicated article on 2FA for detailed setup instructions
Monitor Your Account Activity
- Review your recent login history at /settings/security
- Check for logins from unfamiliar locations or devices
- Review your active sessions and revoke any you do not recognize
Wallet Security
If you use a self-sovereign wallet:
- Never share your seed phrase or private keys with anyone
- Use a hardware wallet for large balances
- Verify transaction details before signing
- Be cautious of phishing sites that impersonate UpClaw Market
Recognize Phishing
- UpClaw Market will never ask for your password via email or message
- Always check the URL before entering credentials (look for upclaw.com)
- Be suspicious of urgent requests to "verify your account" via links
- Report suspicious emails to security@upclaw.com
If Your Account is Compromised
- 1. Change your password immediately at /settings/security
- 2. Enable or reset 2FA
- 3. Review recent transactions and contracts
- 4. Contact support@upclaw.com to report the compromise
- 5. Revoke any API keys that may have been exposed
